The Artist’s Way: Creative Cluster
Ever wanted to complete The Artist’s Way? Now’s your chance.
On Tuesday 7th April 2026, I’ll be re-doing Julia Cameron’s The Artist’s Way: A Spiritual Path to Higher Creativity, and I’m inviting you to join me.
In 2023, I read and completed the book twice. Once alone, and then again, for a second time, within a ‘Creative Cluster’.
What’s The Artist’s Way?
It’s a 12 week course, in the format of a book written by Julia Cameron, first published in 1992! The multi-million-copy bestseller is designed to help you discover and recover your creative self, get you back on track, rediscover your passions, and take the steps you need to change your life.
It aims to transform your life, by overcoming any artistic blocks you may suffer from, including limiting beliefs, fear, shame, self-sabotage, jealousy and guilt, and replace them with self-confidence and productivity.
What’s a Creative Cluster?
In the book, Cameron suggests creating free, peer-run circles where people undertaking the journey unite together and meet up weekly (similarly to a book club), with the common aim of creative unblocking and offering artist-to-artist encouragement and support.
What does this Creative Cluster involve?
It involves a time commitment of about 10-12 hours per week.
Minimum Daily Commitment (45 mins):
One of the primary tools used in this course is Morning Pages, where you will handwrite 3x A4 pages worth of journaling each morning, in your own time. There’s no right or wrong way to do this. You can write whatever you want. These pages are private and aren’t shared with anyone. You should allow 45 minutes to 1 hour for this.
Weekly Commitment: You are also required to:
Take yourself on a 1-2 hour solo Artist Date each week. An Artist Date is time for you to nurture, woo and enchant your creative consciousness, your inner artist. Think of it as an excursion or play date that you preplan and commit to. Julia advises that “when choosing an Artist Date, it is good to ask yourself, “what sounds fun?” — and then allow yourself to try it…. Think magic. Think delight. Think fun. Do what intrigues you, explore what interests you; think mystery, not mastery.”
Read the weekly chapter.
Attend the weekly online group meeting (1hr online) to discuss the topic and complete 5-10 exercises from the chapter.
What you’ll need and how to get started?
Sign up using the form below.
Grab your copy of The Artist’s Way book. I recommend a physical copy so you can highlight and make notes, and easily refer to the tasks.
Get yourself a new notebook or journal, to use specifically for your morning pages and tasks.
I recommend blocking out time in your diary for your weekly chapter reading, daily morning pages, weekly artist date and the weekly group calls (once you receive the confirmation email).
Julia Cameron says “doing your morning pages, you are sending - notifying yourself and the universe of your dreams, dissatisfactions , hopes. Doing your artist date, you are receiving - opening yourself to insight, inspiration, guidance.”
When do we start?
I’m going to start the daily Morning Pages on Monday 6th April.
The weekly group meetings will be online each Tuesday 7:30pm - 8:30pm (AEST) for 12 weeks, starting on Tuesday 7th April 2026.
Once you sign up, you’ll receive an email confirmation with all the details, calendar invites and links.
Here are some pics of a few of my Artist Dates from my first round:
Here’s a list of Artist Date ideas to get you inspired.
What I gained from The Artist’s Way:
A deeper connection with myself
Permission to play, create and have more fun
Permission to make mistakes and be my imperfect self
More creative confidence and inspiration
More joy from taking myself on the artist dates
A reminder that we’re all creative by nature
Confirmation that this book is for everyone (not just people who consider themselves artists)
It also challenged me to do more of what I enjoy, simply for the joy of it
This creative cluster is for women who:
Struggle to create or take action, due to perfectionism and procrastination
Feel disconnected from their creativity, femininity, fertility, joy, play and/or their inner child
Feel bored and/or uninspired
Are addicted to working
Spend too more time on their phones then they’d like to
And desire to:
Become more inspired and creative
Strengthen their confidence
Invite more joy, play and creativity into their life
Spend less time mindlessly scrolling social media
Start and fulfil their creative projects and visions

Who Am I?
Hey, I’m Jayne. I live on the beautiful Central Coast in NSW Australia. I work part time in admin, and also offer Womb Massage, part time.
I’m passionate about emotional connection and community, and have 5+ years’ experience in running both online and in-person group events and programs.
In my spare time, I love to read and learn, move my body, play board games, do puzzles, be creative and catch up with friends. One of my creative dreams is to publish a novel.
Why take this journey along side me?
This will be my 3rd time doing The Artist’s Way. I’ve done it both on my own, as well as in a group, and I found that having a group to do it with, made it more fun and helped keep me accountable.
I believe everyone can benefit from this book, especially women who, like me, struggle with self-doubt, perfectionism, limiting beliefs, fear, shame, self-sabotage, jealousy and guilt.
It’s my intention to create a safe, peer-run group where imperfection, mistakes and failures are expected and accepted.
I’m excited to start this next round, so we can embark on this transformative journey together and create meaningful connection along the way. If this is calling your name, I’d love to have you join me. I look forward to connecting with you soon. Jayne.
